The essence of education is to cultivate virtue and shape individuals. Moral education serves as the guiding light that illuminates the path of students' growth. This semester, our Senior High School Department adhered to the educational philosophy of 'cultivating virtue in the heart and achieving virtue through actions'. Specifically, we integrated moral education into all aspects of daily teaching and learning. For instance, through standardized management and diverse activities, we created a comprehensive growth platform for students, allowing moral education to nourish the hearts of each student like gentle spring rain.
In the first place, at the beginning of the new semester, the Senior High School Department of our school started the first moral education class with the orientation program for new students.
In the second place, during the one-week military training, the students, with their strong willpower, underwent strict national defense education and physical training. From the passionate oath at the opening ceremony, to the orderly formation training in daily routines, and to the wonderful presentation at the closing ceremony, the students forged their willpower, cultivating a sense of collective honor and teamwork spirit through the sweat.
In the third place, not only was military training a test of physical strength, but also a spiritual cleansing, laying a solid foundation of character for students' senior high school life. Besides military training, we have also meticulously planned a series of entrance education activities to comprehensively support students' growth.
In the fourth place, as the backbone of moral education, the head teachers meticulously managed to safeguard the growth path of students. To be concrete, from the heartwarming accompaniment during the opening ceremony to the sharing of experiences at the head teachers' meeting, from signing the class safety responsibility agreement to strictly enforcing teacher ethics and conduct, every measure demonstrated responsibility and commitment.
In the fifth place, in the meticulously designed class atmosphere, the creative blackboards and the vibrant green plants complemented each other, jointly creating a warm and elegant learning environment.
In the sixth place, the theme class meetings focused on core topics such as integrity, safety, inspiration, and gratitude, and conducted a series of sharing and discussions, which aimed to guide students to understand the essence, practice the principles, establish positive and correct values, and cultivate excellent character.
In the seventh place, early morning reading inspections, adherence to grooming and appearance standards, and other detailed management measures have enabled moral education to permeate daily life in an imperceptible yet profound manner. In the meantime, not only has the establishment of student suggestion boxes and lost and found areas provided a strong management approach but also added a touch of warmth.
In the eighth place, we have always adhered to the educational philosophy of 'integration of all five aspects of education'. Through conducting various rich and colorful practical activities, we enabled moral education to take root in vivid and lively experiences. Moreover, we ingeniously integrated moral education with intellectual education, physical education, aesthetic education, and labor education. Also, through cross-disciplinary practical course design, we achieved mutual promotion and coordinated development of the five aspects of education. For instance, socialist core values education was integrated into artistic creation, with teamwork spirit cultivated in sports competitions. Thus, this all-round educational model made moral education no longer an abstract preaching but transformed into real experiences and intrinsic needs in the growth process of students.
In the ninth place, in order to set up exemplary models and create a positive and uplifting campus atmosphere, our Senior High School Department regularly held student commendation activities. In addition, we deeply explored role models around us, using honors such as 'Learning Star', 'Progress Star' and 'Civilized Star' as guiding principles. More remarkably, we aimed to make excellence not an accidental occurrence but a habit deeply rooted in our hearts, inspiring every student to learn from the virtuous and move forward towards the light.
Last but not the least, we were well aware that children's growth could not be achieved without the joint efforts of home and school. Therefore, the Senior High School Department has established communication channels through parent meetings, parent classes and home visits, enabling parents to gain a comprehensive understanding of their children's school situation and accurately grasp their growth needs. Meanwhile, we used parent open days and parent-child activity programs to unite the forces for education, thus allowing parents to participate in moral education work, jointly witnessing children's progress with teachers and exploring paths for their growth, thereby achieving the goal of home and school working together to create a comprehensive moral education environment from school to home.
On the whole, the gentle spring breeze turns to rain, nourishing things silently. This semester's moral education work has been a warm and solid journey. In the future, our Senior High School Department will continue to use moral education as the pen and love as the ink, constantly exploring and advancing on the path of cultivating virtue.
